Don’t Scroll Past, Please!

I need a moment of your attention because this message could transform how you hire.
💡 Did you know there are two (2) distinct types of job hoppers?
Type 1: The Problematic Job Hopper
These employees often:
🔹 Lack of work ethic
🔹 Are disengaged or lazy
🔹 Chose the wrong career path
They bring challenges like poor attendance, frequent mistakes, and low-quality work. They are not trainable and rarely stay long at any company (usually, just a few months).
In over a decade of HR experience, I can recall only THREE ( ‼️ ) employees who fit this description.
Just three.
Type 2: The Circumstantial Job Hopper
Let’s talk about the majority - the passionate, hardworking professionals dedicated to their craft. These individuals genuinely want to make an impact and thrive in their careers.
So why do they change jobs?
✅ Toxic managers (this tops the list!).
✅ Layoffs or restructuring due to poor company performance (spreading out like a bad disease).
✅ Stagnating salaries while financial pressures increase (think raising kids or paying for college).
✅ Lack of growth opportunities, leading to disengagement.
I meet these Type 2 job hoppers ALL. THE. TIME. 😢
These people are not chasing instability. They are searching for a place to grow, contribute, and stay. But life (and, OFTEN TIMES, the workplace, if they are not lucky) creates a hopping path for them.
It is time to rethink job hoppers.
💡 The days of lifelong employment at one company are over.
Life has changed, and so has the workforce.
Not every professional has been fortunate enough to experience supportive managers and career development opportunities within the same organization or to work for thriving companies.
If a candidate is a great fit for the role and provides valid reasons for their job transitions, give them a chance.
You might offer them the stability they have been seeking for so long, and they could become one of your most loyal employees.
