I want to share a story from my early HR journey.
I worked for a global company, pouring my heart into responsibilities and eagerly contributing to projects outside my team. I was passionate about learning and growing as an HR professional.
One afternoon, I returned from lunch to find a small envelope on my desk. Inside was a $50 gift card (😯) from Monique, the HR Director, whose team I’d been helping.
I immediately went to thank her for the unexpected gift. She said: “I really appreciate your help. I’m a very grateful person, and I am grateful for your support. Thank you.”
As I walked back to my desk, I was overwhelmed with emotion. 🥹 That small act of recognition brought tears to my eyes.
It was not about the gift card. It was about feeling valued and seen. 🌟
That moment made my day. Even years later, it remains imprinted in my memory.
Monique demonstrated what true leadership looks like: recognizing the efforts of others and making people feel appreciated through gratitude.
💡 A simple act of gratitude can work wonders:
💠 It motivates employees to go above and beyond.
💠 It re-engages those who may feel disconnected.
💠 It inspires the entire team to thrive.
This holiday season, take a moment to appreciate your team and the people around you.
A heartfelt “thank you” can leave a lasting impact - not just during the holidays, but throughout the year.
Gratitude can move mountains. 🚀
💖 Thank YOU for reading my posts and sharing them with your network! 💖
