This Can Keep You From Landing a Job.

A friend of mine reached out, frustrated after six months of job searching with no success. She was landing interviews with recruiters and hiring managers, but none became offers.

🤔 Curious, I offered to do a mock interview with her. Her response to one question she was always asked was enough to derail her chances.

I had to be honest and told her, “If I were the hiring manager, I would not hire you either.” 🤷‍♀️ The way she answered would make any employer hesitate. She was unknowingly sabotaging her chances with that one response.

We worked together to reframe her answer, and just one month later, she landed the job she had been aiming for.

Sometimes, a single response can make or break your interview.

💡 If your interviews have not been leading to offers, take a closer look at how you are framing your answers. Sometimes, it is not a lack of experience or the competitive job market. It could be one poorly phrased response holding you back.

💡 If possible, do a mock interview to get constructive feedback. The right answers could be your ticket to success!
